Introduction of Blog series OpenAI Essentials: A Guide to Personal AI Applications

Introduction
Hello and welcome to the introduction of my blog series, which I proudly named OpenAI Essentials: A Guide to Personal AI Applications.
Throughout this blog series, I aim to explore the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence— sharing my knowledge and insights with everyone!
In the first episode of the series, I will briefly talk about neural networks. I would also explain how artificial intelligence and machine learning work in the background and what artificial neurons, weights, and tokens are. Then, we will discuss what OpenAI is, and its model offerings that we can use.
After the theoretical introduction, we shall go through practical examples where we apply the theory in practice— To do that, we will leverage OpenAI's models using elementary programming. Now, worry not even if you are not a tech-head, as I aimed to make this series accessible for everyone.
By the end of the series, you should be in a position to build your own personal AI assistant. Here, as I look at a lot of different use cases and applications, you will get an idea about the price of each model, its functions, and how to customize it to your needs. At the time of writing, OpenAI uses a pay-as-you-go pricing model for its APIs, which means you don't pay any upfront costs!
Who am I and why do I write blog?
Most part of my career, I worked as an Infrastructure engineer, primarily focused on Windows, Citrix, and VMware. Later, I moved to a new role- DevOps service owner— The whole environment was new to me, and not much of what I have learned during my career applied to this position. What's more, I moved to a foreigh country and everything felt overwhelming.
In order to filter out, I decided to try OpenAI's voice GPT-4, mostly in order to understand the issues I was facing. Just a few hours of conversation with no expectations set before or after and I had connected the missing dots in my head. Eventually, it helped me understand my work environment— why is it set-up like that, and even how to make it better. Its suggestions, information, and the analogy based on my previous work experiences helped me to learn so fast that even now, I cannot believe it.
Since then, I have talked to AI almost every day before going to sleep, even though I fully understood my original work related issues. We talked about my career goals, and among other things, it has suggested creating a personal website and, optionally, adding a blog— I have never thought of it before, but it seemed like a great idea. Now, here I am, writing a blog about AI.
To summarize, career-wise, I started a new job, became familiar with OpenAI's models, and have always been a big fan of automation. Combine these things and you have enough topics to write about for years. Besides, as a tech enthusiast, my workday never ended with my shift—I've been experimenting with new technologies daily, yet never took the time to document my insights and knowledge gained. Therefore, the blog seemed like a good starting point!
Navigating the Series
The series is logically structured, so you don't need to start with the first blog, although I do recommend it. Anyway, you can always look at the tree structure below, where you will find links to existing episodes and episodes that are just yet to come.
